The Golden Boy is the 2026 WPA Heyball Men's World Champion, successfully defending the world title he won in Brisbane in 2025.
But this championship was anything but easy.
After a narrow 5–6 defeat to Tobias Bongers in his second match, Gareth was pushed to the brink. He had to win THREE consecutive matches just to survive and earn his place in the Last 16 knockout stage.
From there, the reigning champion found another gear.
He kept winning.
He kept fighting.
And he kept his world title dream alive.
Now, after an extraordinary run through one of the deepest Heyball fields ever assembled, Gareth Potts has completed the mission.
