INTRODUCTION TO CHAIRMAN QIAO YUANXU
Qiao Yuanxu was born in Harbin in 1952. Fo r many years, he has been dedicated to the development of Heyball and has initiated two flagship intellec tual properties: JOY Billiards Tabl e and World Heyba ll Masters. He is the in itiat or and promoter of the dream of Heyball's inclusion in the Olympic Games.
Qiao Yuanxu was one of t he three educated youths in 1968, wo「king as a mechan ica l engineer in the Forest Iro n Factory of Heilongj iang Xinglong For estry Bureau. In 1986, he was awarded the title of Provincial Model Worker and Excellent Pa rty Member in the Songhua River region.
In 1992, Qiao Yuanxu went to Qinhuangdao to start his own business. In 1993, he made a living by setting up a billiards table on t he street. In 1998, JOY Billiards Tab le Factory was founded, and 7 national and inte rnation al patents were developed to create a groundbreaking new generation of b仆liards tables.
In 2006, Qiao Yuanxu in 巾 ated the JOY Black Eight Ranking Ev ent. He promoted Heyball against the trend when the whole industry was swarming to promote snooker and 9-ball. In 2012, Stephen Hendry was signed as the global ambassador for He yball. In 2013, after many twists and turns, Heyball finally made its debut on CCTV.
In 2016, in response to the Belt and Road Init iative, JOY launched the overseas "seeding" plan. In 2019, the Masters was recognized by the Central Publicity Depar tment as a rep resent at ive sports event of "Chinese Culture Going Global", and was featured in a column by the People's Daily. In 2020, the 8th Grand Finals attracted 300 players from over 60 countries to participate in China. During the pandemic, the Masters became the first large-scale event to resume work.
In 2022, JOY promoted Heyball to become an official discipline of the 1st WCBS Championship. In 2023, JOY invested 35 million to upgrade and ,m prove the event system. In t he same year, the JOY Billiards Cultur e and Sports Industrial Park project began construction.
In December 2023, Qia o Yuanxu was invited to attend the "Beautiful China" forum and deliver a speech, which caused a strong response in the world' s billiards industry. In the same year, JOY invested 6 million US dollars to achieve deep cooperat ion of "Heyball's inclusion into the Olympic Games" with the WPA and WCBS.
In 2024 , 480 top players from 73 countries and regions, association presidents from over 50 countries, and officials from the National Olympic Com mittees of 2 countrie s」ointly participated in the 12th World Heyball Masters Grand Finals. JOY responded to the great initiative of "a community with a shared future for mankind" with the theme of "From China With Love". And the total prize money in a si ngle season skyrocketed to 50 mill ion. The new JOY Rose Gold debuted during the same per iod, leading the industry's technologica l innovation. Currently, with the efforts of JOY, Heyball has been in cluded in the 2025 Chengdu World Ga mes 」OY will strive to promote Heyba ll to the Asian Games and Olympic Games in the future.
Qiao Yuanxu also has a passion for alpine skiing and often competes with young people. At the age of 70, he was selected as the image ambassador for the Beijing Wi nt er Olymp ics promotional video. At t he age of 71, he completed a daily skiing of 240 kilometers, breaking the Chinese Guinness record for a daily skiing of 200 kilomet ers. At the age of 72, he participated in the first China Alpine Ski Masters. Adhering to the entrepreneurial spirit of striving for excellence and the patriotic sentiment of benefitting the world, Qia o Yuanxu is determined to realize Heyball's inclusion in the Olym pie Games.
